Sarah is an experienced solicitor specialising in private client work based in the Thames Valley.  She advises those living in England or Wales on making Wills, including trusts in Wills, and Lasting Powers of Attorney for both property & finances and for health & welfare decisions.  She also assists with the administration of estates (probate) and advises on the creation and running of trusts. 

She is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Association of Lifetime Lawyers. 

What will the information session include:

Wills & Trusts in Wills

  • What key things should I consider when making a Will?
  • The appointment of executors and trustees in a Will
  • The appointment of a guardian in a Will
  • Trusts in Wills for the family – different types – bare trust, trusts for beneficiaries under 25, life interest trust, discretionary trust.

  Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA)

  • Explaining the two types – LPA for property & finances and LPA for health & welfare;
  • What to think about when making an LPA including the appointment of attorneys – one or more, different types of appointment (joint & several / joint), replacement attorneys?
  • Any particular provisions in the instructions / restrictions section?
  • How to make an LPA – formalities;
  • When and how they can be used.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions of a general nature about Wills and LPAs
