Coffee, Cake and Chat event in Birmingham with Sam This is a monthly face to face get together set up for anyone affected by a rare bone marrow failure condition, such as aplastic anaemia, Dyskeratosis Congenita, Fanconi Anaemia or Shwachman Diamond Syndrome. Just a short 15 minute bus journey or 20 minute walk from Birmingham Children’s Hospital, or a 10 minute train journey from The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sam will be waiting to meet you at The Exchange in Centenary Square between 10am and 1pm on the third Tuesday of every month. Come and meet other people affected by a rare bone marrow failure condition. It's a great place to ask questions, share experiences and learn more about how The AAT can support you. Everyone is welcome and you don't need to have attended any previous events or have spoken to us before. Just come along and say hello! There's no need to register or let us know in advance, just drop by on the day for a cuppa and a chat. Led by Sam Having been through aplastic anaemia treatment himself as a child and receiving a stem cell transplant at the age of 21, Sam is passionate about supporting patients. He's here to provide you with a friendly ear, and expert, up to date information about the disease and treatment. Sam has extensive experience of managing online communities and manages our thriving Facebook community, supported by our wonderful volunteers.
