As a parent, the most devastating news you can get is that your child has a life-threatening condition. You never think it will happen to you until it does. Severe aplastic anaemia became our reality. We took the time to learn all about the diagnosis to fully grasp it and committed ourselves to spreading awareness about this super rare condition. We are still learning this far in it and Jensen still has a journey ahead of him. Each day he is getting stronger. This year has been incredibly tough. We've seen our son go through treatments no parent should have to witness, and no child should have to endure. We spent six weeks living in the hospital and hospital accommodation. We spent more time in hospitals than at home. It's been emotionally draining. On a brighter note, this year introduced me to some truly amazing people I probably wouldn't have met otherwise. I’ve made wonderful connections that I know will last, and I’ve encountered some genuinely kind-hearted souls. I've changed a lot. I'm definitely not the same person I was back in January 2025, and I’m really proud of how far I've come. I approach things differently now, with much more stability and resilience. This year has really changed my outlook on life. I've figured out what I'll welcome into my life and what I won't put up with anymore. I've set clear boundaries to keep my mental health in check, and I won't let anyone cross them. We're more than ready to wave goodbye to 2025! No New Year's resolutions for me this time around. I’ve decided to ditch them for good. Instead, I'm just going to enjoy life and take each day as it comes, the good and the bad. What does 2026 have in store for us? I have no idea, but I really hope it’s kinder to my son. I'm incredibly proud of Jensen; he's been through so much and he's still smiling. I'll keep doing my best to spread awareness about aplastic anaemia and the importance of blood, platelet, and plasma donations, as well as the NHS Stem Cell Register. Watching this video made me emotional & reminded me of just how much Jensen has been through. I am also in awe of how much Jensen has overcome. Hope you all have an awesome New Year! 🎉Sending loads of love. Welcome to Jensen's Story. Trying our best to raise more awareness for Aplastic Anaemia.
